Wellbeing is firmly embedded into our whole school culture, policies and daily routines.

  • Universal Support

    • Our Education for Life (PSHE) curriculum teaches students about wellbeing, coping strategies, resilience and emotional literacy

    • Regular tutor sessions for all students about mental health related topics

    • Tutor time check-ins

    • Welcoming spaces to support wellbeing such as our Wellbeing Garden and Student Hub

    • Dedicated Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAs) to support your child

    • Half termly measuring of students’ wellbeing through our Education for Life reviews, and follow up support if required

  • Targeted Support

    • Small-group interventions (e.g., exam anxiety workshops run through SolentMind, DareToBe)

    • ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) interventions

    • School Counsellor

  • Specialist Support

    • Clear pathways and partnerships with external agencies CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services).

    • We regularly update parents on our whole school approach to wellbeing through channels such as the Parent Wildern Weekly

    • Mental Health Awareness Month, Grief Awareness Week, Children’s Mental Health Week, Time to Talk Day, World Sleep Day and Parent Mental Health Day are just some examples of the symbolic weeks and events we promote through our newsletter

We are always looking to support our students’ wellbeing, working with outside speakers and charities to keep wellbeing firmly at the heart of everything we do.
